It won't be much longer before she finds out if she will be drafted onto a derby team or if her derby dreams will be over. In honor of a derby drill known as Blood and Thunder, Jennifer made a layout for her to journal about the experience of participating in the drill for the first time. She left the crop for a few hours to attend the first round of tryouts for the Mad Rollin Dolls roller derby league in Madison. Claire joined us to work on her album (although she escaped the camera lens at this crop, we had this photo from the archives). She also shared her good news of accepting a job offer. We are all excited for her as she begins this new adventure. Back at the crop, Jenn finally got the call from the Mad Rollin Dolls that she passed Day 1 of tryouts. She was excited to be going back for Day 2 of tryouts. Her husband dropped by with an ice cream cake for the girls to celebrate. It was yummy.
Post-Crop Update: Jenn made it through Day 2 of tryouts and is currently a Baby Doll which means she gets to keep practicing and learning derby in hopes of being drafted to a team in the fall. This is Jenn's husband Wes. The group declared him "Husband of the Year" for bringing everyone ice cream cake. Kate and Sam love their big adhesive guns. They are affectionately known as Rico and Mr. Man...their guns that is. Stephanie makes some more progress. Kate was jamming on her project. Sue Ann wins the paper and rub-on prize pack donated to the crop by Becky. Sam recently got the Crop-a-Dile multi-purpose tool.
